Join our team located in Freeport , Long Island , NY . We are currently seeking a collections professional.

SUMMARY:
Manage the credit and collections department. Monitor productivity and initiate process changes to improve dollars collected and staff efficiency and effectiveness. Interface with our CFO and outside legal counsel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the collections and account adjustment process for Residential accounts. Identify areas for process improvements to reduce DSO, minimize the company’s exposure to bad debt and financial disconnects, and ensure timely processing of all credits and adjustments to the A/R.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate transmission/mailing of financial letter contacts, collection dunning letters, and legal termination paperwork to customers. Also, ensure the proper enforcement of the company’s customer agreements in regards to charges for service, acceleration of terms, and other miscellaneous charges as warranted.
  • Manage the Company’s system processing and maintenance of all residential customer online contracts in queue for ongoing monitoring, cancellation, disconnection, and reconnection of service. This includes proper documentation of disconnection for default of payments through legal notification and documentation of customer credit reporting histories.
  • Provide strong leadership to the Residential Collections Department, and develop a strong supervisory team within this function to ensure the future needs of the Company are met in this area.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Business Degree from a four-year college or university; and/or, consistent, progressive experience managing high volume processes, preferably in collections.
