New York Merchants Protective Co. to provide fire system maintenance and monitoring for the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office of New York City
New contract awards NYMPC with servicing rights to each of the office’s five facilities
Freeport, NY – In a new agreement with the City of New York, NYMPC has been selected to provide all fire alarm system maintenance and monitoring for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the City of New York.
New York Merchants Protective Co. will be the sole agency responsible for servicing each of the office's five facilities across the city.
“The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office is an extremely vital piece of New York’s City government,” says Eric Wahrsager, VP of marketing and development of NYMPC. “We’re pleased to offer our advanced fire detection and monitoring capabilities to ensure that this agency can continue to function and serve the city without interruption.”
Headed by Charles S. Hirsch, M.D., the Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates unusual or suspicious cases of death within New York City, including cases of criminal violence, suicide or sudden casualty.
New York Merchants Protective Co. will service all five of the OCME’s facilities, including the main offices, morgue facilities, and the DNA testing labs responsible for examining the remains from the September 11, 2001, World Trade Center attack.
“The citizens, families and law enforcement of New York City depend on these facilities every single day,” says Wahrsager. “Our job is to make sure their fire systems are up-to-date, functioning properly, and capable of the earliest detection possible.”
New York Merchants Protective Co. is listed by Underwriters Laboratories for the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems and approved by the New York City Fire Department as one of just a few companies granted permission to monitor fire alarms in New York City and to link straight to the FDNY fire dispatch headquarters.
Also known for its extensive security services and advanced central-monitoring center, NYMPC’s fire alarm system capabilities include a wide range of services including smoke and heat detectors, manual pull stations, sprinkler water flow and tamper devices as well as voice evacuation systems.
