New York Merchants Protective Co. acquires District Central Station Alarm Corp.

Merge gives NYMPC 65% market share in Check Cashing industry throughout NY State.

Freeport, NY – New York Merchants Protective Co. announced today the acquisition and merger of accounts from District Central Station Alarm Corp., based in Mount Vernon, NY.

As the result of the merger, NYMPC will take over all of District’s commercial and residential accounts, including the recent addition of 30 New York Community Bank locations.

Established in 1975, District Central Station Alarm provides its services to high-security locations, including banks and licensed check cashers, both of which require UL “AA” central station alarm systems, as mandated by insurance companies.

With this acquisition, NYMPC will now service nearly two thirds of all licensed check cashers in the State of New York, gaining a 65% share of the market.

In addition, because all of District’s accounts are within the operating demographic of NYMPC’s existing account base, NYMPC will be able to transition the accounts quickly with a seamless integration into its central monitoring station.
